'Privileged Information' Narrative/Plot Sequence

Narrative/ Plot sequence for 'Privileged Information':

  • The film opens with a shot of LENA in bed, followed by a sequence of her getting ready for the day, whilst she brushes her teeth, makes breakfast, brushes her hair, puts on makeup and gets dressed.
  • LENA then leaves to go to work. She commutes via the tube, taking notice of the people around her.
  • Once LENA has arrived for her job (a reporter) in Whitehall (King Charles' Place), she begins to report on the afore mentioned mass-killer.
  • Suddenly, there is an interruption in LENA's broadcast, within which it is revealed that a CCTV photo of the suspected killer has been leaked via Twitter.
  • LENA then realises she had been discovered, and flees Whitehall, walking back across Waterloo Bridge to her home
  • LENA walks down her street, whilst looking at the people who walk past her, feeling paranoid - as though she is being constantly watched
  • The film ends as it begun, with LENA crawling onto her bed, reaching for the bloodied orange hat and scarf which she pulls to her chest.
